Alex's Dad

Alex's Dad, Neil, came to 2M's classroom and played music for us. He played the guitar and sang some of our favourite songs, and played the congas for us.

Just two old girls

Now we have only two guinea pigs left - Tashi and Flash. All the babies have gone to good homes (Heather, Stuart, Isabelle, Mitchell and Lauren are looking after their new pets very well) and Dash is still hiding out in the bushes after her prison break.

Tashi and Flash are probably enjoying the peace, and there is a lot more room in the box and in the outdoor run.

Fairfield City Farm

2M went with KM and 1S on an excursion to Fairfield City Farm. We learned a lot about farming and farm animals. Click here to watch a video.

African Drumbeats

The African Drumbeats performance under the COLA was a lot of fun. Everyone in the whole school had a go at drumming (even the teachers!) and the music was exciting.

Maths on the Net

Here's our next challenge!

The Country Areas Program has an online maths activity called 'Maths on the Net'. This Term's challenge is to find out who has stolen some pearls, and which of 27 locations they have hidden them in. On the way, there are 27 puzzles to solve - some easy, some very tricky! Children from 2M will try some of the puzzles this week, then we will choose a team of 4 - 6 students who will be our reps, checking the website regularly, keeping a record of which puzzles have been solved, etc.

Collie on the Move

Collie on the Move (online Transport activity from www.cap.nsw.edu.au) has ended and we have found all the answers. We have also sent in a graph of how 2M children come to school each day. Click here to visit the site and see our graph.

World of Maths

Today we had World of Maths in the school library. There were lots of fun games and activities.

Tashi

Tashi is named after the character from Anna Feinberg's books. The illustrations in the Tashi books are by Kim Gamble.

Flash

This one is called Flash. She has a white bottom and she moves very fast.

Our Pets

This little piggy is Dash. When anyone goes near her she makes a dash for cover.

Snakes Alive!

Steve K (Rhys and Jessica's dad) visited 2M on Monday with three of his pets - two bearded dragons and a children's python. We were all enjoying comfortable clothes for Pyjama Day but that didn't stop some of us from feeling just a teensy bit nervous when the snake appeared! Click here to watch a short video.

Dance Lesson

Every Thursday in Term 3 all classes have a dance lesson under the COLA. It's a lot of fun and good exercise too! Click here to watch a brief video.

Our new pets

We have three pet guinea pigs in our class. We got them from Irena, who is a friend of Mr McL's daughter, Katie.
We have to think of names for the guinea pigs..

SRC

Stuart and Darcy are the SRC reps for 2M for the second semester. They received their badges at a special assembly on Friday.
